Walid graduated from the Lebanese University in 1998 and holds a BS in Laws.
In 1998, Walid started his career as Attorney At Law at Dr. Abdul Salam Cheaib Law Firm till 2004.
From 2000 till 2003, Walid was the Senior Legal Counselor of the Minister at The Ministry of Energy and Water and was in charge of drafting the Oil and Gas law in Lebanon.
From 2001-2003, Walid worked in establishing the legal structure of EDL’s privatization in Lebanon in collaboration of the World Bank and represented the Lebanese Government in several international negotiations for the Arab Petroleum administration (الهيئة العربية للغاز ) that was set to be established between Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt.
Walid worked with UNDP in Lebanon, providing legal consultation on different subjects, mainly creating legal structure between UNDP and Lebanese NGOs.
He also represents Future TV, Galaxy International SA (ranked Top 5 in Oil Trading), Assicurazioni Generali the biggest Italian Insurance Company, Danash Contracting Co. (ranked Top 5 in Contracting in Lebanon) and furthermore, Walid represents several companies in Lebanon, UAE and KSA and has excellent knowledge in forming the Legal structure of a Joint Venture between Lebanese Companies and Turkish ones in different areas of business.
Walid has expertise in establishing legal entities, incorporation of companies and branches with foreign investment and general corporate governance matters (Lebanon, UAE and KSA).
- Expertise in negotiation, preparation and review of various contracts including financial lease agreements, distribution agreements, licensing agreements, service agreements for provision of various types of services in different sectors, franchising agreements, construction agreements, employment agreements, pledge agreements, lease agreements, real estate purchases and all such other contracts necessary for the daily operations of corporations.
- Expertise in providing guidance on corporate issues pertaining to multinational transactions in various sectors including energy, telecommunications, information technology, medical supplies, building materials, industrial manufacturing, logistics, retail, food and beverage, hospitality and media.
- Expertise in contracting, production and copy rights agreements, assisting several local and multinational contracting Companies in the preparation and review of various contracting contracts, a as well one of the major Lebanese Television in negotiating and drafting all kind of production, Intellectual Properties and copy rights agreements.
- Participation in the teamwork comprising legal for handling claims on taxation and property ownership issues regarding the company activities and assets in Lebanon, UAE and KSA.
- Coordination of company formation activities and preparation of documents, including articles of association and other related documents, for the partnerships to be established where the projects would be executed.
- Contract review studies, review of contracts in particular respect of legal conditions and legal/financial liabilities. Follow up of contract variations and amendments.
- Drafting agreements with subcontractors, and Suppliers.
- Drafting correspondence with employers, JV or consortium partners, subcontractors and other third parties.
